Certified Apartment Maintenance Technicians and HVAC Technicians

The El Paso Apartment Association and Western Technical College will be hosting a job fair. EPAA received funding from the Texas Apartment Association Education Foundation to conduct a series of CAMT-T classes for transitioning military members, veterans and military spouses. The first class graduates in 2 weeks. The students completed a curriculum that was much more comprehensive than the standard CAM-T class. The class is 8 weeks long and the students will graduate with advanced skills in electrical, HVAC, plumbing, make-ready, and appliance repair. Thanks to our generous sponsor, Lowes Pro, the students will also be equipped with a well-stocked toolbox. Western Tech students who are about to complete the HVAC Technician course will also take part in the job fair.

The next class begins September 27th. We hope to continue to graduate 10 maintenance technicians approximately every 2 months. When I first took over as Association Executive, one of the biggest concerns our members expressed was a lack of qualified maintenance technicians. We heard your concerns and we hope this helps alleviate your workforce shortage.
