The El Paso Apartment Association offers education programs and opportunities to increase professionalism in the industry. Three of these programs, National Apartment Leasing Professional (NALP), Certified Apartment Manager (CAM), and Certified Apartment Property Supervisor (CAPS) lead to national certification by the National Apartment Association.
 The National Apartment Leasing Professional (NALP) course increases professionalism by improving administrative, telephone and sales skills. Subjects included are Fair Housing Laws, Resident Safety, Effective Telephone Presentations, Qualifying, Sales Techniques, and Rental Policies and Procedures.
 The Certified Apartment Manager (CAM) Course is a comprehensive course in onsite management techniques. Topics covered include Management Theory, Human Resources, Apartment Community Analysis, Marketing, Maintenance for Managers, Landlord-Tenant Law, Risk Management, Equal Opportunity Housing, Americans with Disabilities Act, Government Assisted Housing, and Finance. Graduates are nationally recognized and dependable, highly qualified, professionally dedicated onsite managers.
 The Certified Apartment property Supervisor (CAPS) program prepares property supervisors for the various demanding duties involved as the liaison between onsite management and executive management. Participants learn skills in areas such as economics and report preparation to aid them in managing multiple properties. Other topics include Personnel Policies and Procedures, Marketing Procedures, Administrative Control and Property Evaluation and Take Over.
Other Educational opportunities include scheduled seminars and workshops by top rated industry experts, as well as state and national learning opportunities held in conjunction with trade shows. You may also take individual sections of the CAM and CAPS courses to develop particular skills without the requirement for meeting all the demands of a certification program.
